Coding: Google CS First

CS First is flexible for every classroom, student, and teacher. One of our lessons will work for you, no matter how much time you have, which subject you teach, or which topics your students are interested in.

Students will practice hands-on creativity as they animate their very own Google logo Google logo with a design that reflects their unique interests. With videos, lesson plans, and starter projects, this activity has everything you need to get started with CS First.

With topics like art, video games, and fashion, you can add an extra boost of computer science fun using CS First themes that are built around your students’ interests. These sets of activities can be spread over several days or weeks, helping students learn core computer science concepts with projects that they’ll be excited to create.

CS First isn’t just for computer class. Our lessons can enhance just about any subject you teach. Once students are familiar with CS First and Scratch, you can teach math with our Music & Sound theme or art with our Fashion & Design theme. Storytelling is a favorite for English and Language Arts classes to help students create dialogue, plots, and characters.
